Portugal Announces Final Roster for EuroBasket Return After 14 Years
After a 14-year absence, Portugal is officially back at FIBA EuroBasket, led by Boston Celtics center Neemias Queta and star guard Travante Williams. Head coach Mario Gomes has announced the final 12-man roster following the conclusion of the preparation phase, which ended with a solid record of 3 wins and 2 losses against national teams such as Spain, Iceland, and Sweden. Excluding the final friendly against club side Sporting CP, Portugal showed encouraging signs ahead of its fourth appearance at the continental competition—the first since 2011. A whole generation of Portuguese fans will finally get to see their national team return to the European stage.
