Anadolu Efes, Shane Larkin ready to return to the court after three months
Three months later, Anadolu Efes is preparing to welcome Shane Larkin back. Sidelined since November 14, during the game against Bayern Munich, an injury and subsequent surgery kept the Turkish team’s star out for several weeks. He will return tonight in the Turkish Cup, with Efes facing Bahçeşehir Koleji in the quarterfinals at the Sinan Erdem Dome.
The guard has played only 11 games so far, averaging 15.8 points per game along with 4.5 assists and shooting 41.9% from three-point range. His injury — and he was not the only one affected — has clearly had a major impact on Efes’ season, with the team currently sitting sixth in the Turkish league and 17th in the EuroLeague with a 9–19 record. Even their European campaign has started to improve when it may already be too late: the Turkish side has won its last three consecutive games, crushing Virtus Bologna just under a week ago, 91–60.
