Moses Wright is enjoying an outstanding season, and in Round 32 he once again played a key role, helping Žalgiris Kaunas secure an 87–85 win over Real Madrid with a performance of 16 points and 4 rebounds. The big man has been at the center of transfer rumors linking him with a move to FC Barcelona this summer. When asked about it, Wright responded: “I’ll say what Ataman said: I hate the media,” Wright told reporters after the game. “We still have six games left. We play Bayern, then Fenerbahçe is a great challenge. Then we have Šiauliai (a team from the Lithuanian league), right? Yeah, that’s a tough opponent.”

When asked about a reported counter-offer from Žalgiris, Wright confirmed he has received proposals from both the Lithuanian club and Barcelona, while also referencing various rumors surrounding the Spanish side: “Yeah, I’m getting offers from different teams, but right now I’m focused here. I have an offer from Žalgiris and one from Barcelona, but at the moment I’m only thinking about Žalgiris.”

He then added with a smile: “I don’t know what’s going on. I saw that Josh Nebo is going to Barcelona—it’s already done,” he joked, referring to speculation about the Olimpia Milano big man being targeted by the Catalan club. “A lot of players are going to Barcelona right now. Who else? I saw they’re looking at Nadir Hifi… Maybe they just want a French guy? Wait, Josh isn’t French, he’s Slovenian (laughs). They have a Slovenian, they want French point guards… I don’t know what’s going on at Barça.”

Wright has been one of the top centers in the competition this season, averaging 13 points and 6 rebounds per game, along with a performance index rating of 16.2. With Žalgiris now improving to an 18–14 record, the team is getting closer to the play-in spots, tied with four other teams in what remains a wide-open race for the postseason.
