Official: Virtus Bologna part ways with Dusko Ivanovic

Dusko Ivanovic is no longer the head coach of Virtus Bologna. The club announced that it has relieved the Montenegrin coach of his duties, with his contract originally set to expire this summer. At the same time, the club confirmed that assistant coach Nenad Trajkovic has also ended his tenure with the team. “Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna would like to express its sincere gratitude to Coach Ivanovic for his professionalism, dedication, and the work carried out during his tenure. The club also extends its thanks to Nenad Trajkovic and wishes both of them the best in their future professional careers,” the statement read, released just a few hours after the EuroLeague derby loss against Olimpia Milano.

Nenad Jakovljevic will take over as head coach of Virtus Bologna for the remainder of the season. The Serbian coach will be assisted by Daniele Parente and Cristian Fedrigo. Born in 1988, Jakovljevic joined Virtus Bologna in December 2023 as part of Luca Banchi’s coaching staff and previously worked as an assistant under Ivanovic at Crvena Zvezda. His background also includes several years with Dolomiti Energia Trento, where he worked both in the youth sector and as a video coordinator with the first team.
