David DeJulius to play for Slovakia: he has been naturalized

David DeJulius is officially a Slovak citizen and will be eligible to represent the national team starting with the February FIBA window. The player’s agency announced the news. DeJulius, born in 1999 and a native of Detroit, turned professional in 2023 after five years of college basketball split between Michigan and Cincinnati. After one season with Lavrio and Göttingen, he joined Aris BC and, during the 2024/25 season, was acquired by Maccabi Tel Aviv. He played just four EuroLeague games before transferring to Bursaspor.

In the summer of 2025, he signed with UCAM Murcia, where he is averaging 15.4 points and 3.3 assists per game in Liga Endesa, along with 6.9 points and 3.7 assists in the FIBA Europe Cup.
Slovakia will return to action at the end of the month for the games against Kosovo and Albania in the pre-qualifiers for EuroBasket 2029.
