Germany’s head coach, Alex Mumbru, has been hospitalized in Tampere, Finland, due to an acute infection, as confirmed by the national federation. While reports indicate that his condition is not serious and the hospitalization is mainly precautionary, Mumbru will miss Germany’s EuroBasket opener against Montenegro, scheduled for Wednesday at 3:30 PM.
In his absence, assistant coach Alan Ibrahimagic will step in and lead the team until Mumbru is able to return. Germany, placed in Group B, will kick off the tournament against Montenegro, followed by matchups against Lithuania, Finland, Great Britain, and Sweden.
