France Roster Update: Strazel Out for EuroBasket, Nadir Hifi Returns
France has announced that Matthew Strazel has been forced to withdraw from EuroBasket 2025. A thigh injury has sidelined the AS Monaco Basket player for a few days, and after being left out of today’s friendly against Greece, he has officially withdrawn from the tournament.
His replacement is a strong one: Nadir Hifi will rejoin the team under coach Frédéric Fauthoux. The 23-year-old guard made a strong impression in the last EuroLeague season with Paris Basketball. Hifi will join the national squad in Poland, where France will begin the group stage of the tournament.
Interestingly, Hifi was the last player cut from the French roster just a week ago. Now he returns to strengthen an already solid backcourt, which includes Théo Maledon, Sylvain Francisco, and Elie Okobo.
