Marco Belinelli ready to announce his retirement?

"Because there's nothing more beautiful." That’s what Marco Belinelli wrote as the caption to a deeply emotional Instagram post. A basketball hoop, followed by images of jerseys, newspaper clippings, and more — a visual journey through an incredible career. Everything suggests that this could be the prelude to the major announcement of his retirement from professional basketball.
Starting out in San Giovanni in Persiceto, Belinelli went on to become the first Italian player to win an NBA title, doing so with the San Antonio Spurs in the 2013-14 season. He was also the first Italian to win the NBA Three-Point Contest during the 2014 All-Star Weekend.
After returning to Italy in 2020 following a 13-year NBA career, Belinelli spent the last five seasons with Virtus Bologna, where he won two Italian league titles, the most recent just a few weeks ago.
