Chaos in Bologna: Luca Vildoza and His Wife Arrested for Assaulting Medical Staff
Luca Vildoza and his wife, Milica Vildoza, were reportedly arrested overnight in Bologna, according to Il Resto del Carlino. The newspaper reports that the player allegedly attacked a Red Cross ambulance crew that was on its way to assist an injured person. The account describes an unusual sequence of events: Vildoza supposedly became angry because his car was blocked by the ambulance, flashed his headlights at the emergency vehicle, and then insulted the staff on board.
“The incident, however, did not end there,” Il Carlino continues. “The Virtus Bologna point guard and the ambulance crew allegedly met again later along Viale Silvani, where the emergency vehicle had its lights and sirens on. Vildoza then reportedly began blocking the ambulance with abrupt braking and maneuvers, until the medical staff stopped to ask the reason for such hostile behavior. The player, after yelling at the paramedics—whom he accused of blocking the road and ‘playing with their phones’—allegedly grabbed one of the operators by the neck and assaulted her.”
According to the report, the woman’s colleagues stepped in, and at that point, Milica Vildoza also allegedly pulled the nurse’s hair. The commotion drew the attention of local police. “Meanwhile, some Virtus Bologna officials and police officers—called by the medical staff—arrived on the scene. The officers restrained the player and his wife and took them to the police station, where, after verification, both were arrested on charges of assaulting healthcare personnel.” Official statements from Virtus Bologna are still awaited.
