Marko Guduric will join Olimpia Milano on a multi-year contract

Marko Guduric will join Olimpia Milano jersey. A major move by the Italian club to secure the Serbian forward, who will join Ettore Messina’s team starting next season. First came the report from Serbia, then the confirmation from his agent, Misko Raznatovic, who also represents Josh Nebo in Milan. Nebo is expected to remain with the team, hoping the summer will allow him to recover from the many issues that plagued him during a forgettable season. Raznatovic also represents Neno Dimitrijevic, who will leave the club. In 2023, Guduric extended his contract with Fenerbahce through the 2025–26 season, which included an opt out clause. That clause will now be activated, as he heads to Italy on a lucrative deal. Guduric had returned to the Turkish club in 2020 after an uneventful stint in the NBA with Memphis. This season, he averaged 10.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and a PIR of 11.9 over 36 games. This marks Olimpia’s first major signing, and their second overall after acquiring Quinn Ellis, as they look to bounce back in European competition.
What Does Guduric Bring to Milano? Two qualities that recent versions of Olimpia sorely lacked: leadership and playmaking. For leadership, one stat says it all: 19 points scored in the EuroLeague final in Abu Dhabi against Monaco. In his first two years at Fenerbahce, Guduric played a key role in the team reaching the EuroLeague Final Four in 2018 and 2019. His court vision – despite being a forward – is precisely what a club needs that has struggled to find stability at the point guard position since the days of Rodriguez and Delaney. The mind can’t help but go back three years to that 2022 clash between Milano and Fenerbahce. Sasha Djordjevic was coaching the Turkish side, and in the closing moments of the game, tensions flared between Messina and Guduric, with the Serbian pointing at the Olimpia coach after a basket, sparking a reaction from Kyle Hines.
