Report: Multiple NBA teams Interested in Roman Sorkin, Standout at EuroBasket 2025

Israel exited EuroBasket in the Round of 16. Led by Deni Avdija, the national team still had a solid run throughout the tournament, thanks in part to Roman Sorkin, whose performances have drawn the interest of several NBA franchises. According to SNY journalist Ian Begley, the Maccabi Tel Aviv big man (playing both power forward and center) has caught the attention of the Portland Trail Blazers – Avdija's current team – as well as the Miami Heat and New York Knicks. At EuroBasket 2025, Sorkin averaged 16.5 points, 6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 29.2 minutes per game, shooting 51.4% from the field and 31.8% from three-point range. In the most recent EuroLeague season, he averaged 12.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 23.4 minutes, with a 34.1% three-point shooting percentage.
