Official: Marco Belinelli Stays with Virtus Bologna as Brand Ambassador

It’s now official: Marco Belinelli will remain with Virtus Bologna — but no longer on the court. The club’s president, Massimo Zanetti, announced in a press release that the former shooting guard — a two-time Italian champion with Virtus, who returned to Bologna after a long and successful NBA career — will stay on as the team’s Brand Ambassador and Basketball Advisor. “The captain of the past four seasons, who lifted Virtus’ 17th championship trophy this past June, will take on a consulting role for the club’s institutional, commercial, and sporting areas,” reads the official statement from Virtus Bologna.
