Peppe Poeta returns in Milan, he will be Ettore Messina's “Lead Assistant"

Olimpia Milano agreed on terms for the return of Peppe Poeta to the team coaching staff with the position of “Lead Assistant”. Born in Battipaglia on September 12, 1985, Poeta has been an assistant coach at Olimpia from 2022 to 2024 and helped the team win back-to-back Italian league championships. During the last season, his first as a head coach, he led Brescia to the Italian league championship series after finishing the regular season in third place.

POETA’S CAREER – During his career as a player, Poeta played in Salerno, Veroli, made his debut in Serie A with Teramo and eventually spent time at Virtus Bologna, Baskonia and Manresa in Spain, Trento, Turin, Reggio Emilia and Cremona. He played 120 games for the national team and won the 2019 Italian Cup with Turin. In 2022, after retiring, he joined the staff of the national team with which he participated in the 2023 World Cup and the 2024 Pre-Olympic tournament, and that of Olimpia Milano under Ettore Messina who coached him during his National team playing career. He started his head coaching career in Brescia in 2024 and led the team to the Italian league finals.
