Olimpia Milano puts Nikola Milutinov and Nick Weiler-Babb on its radar for next season

Olimpia Milano continues to work on its roster for the upcoming season. After securing deals with Quinn Ellis and Marko Guduric, the club is now looking for a big man to pair with Josh Nebo for next year. In recent weeks, the hot name has been Devin Booker, but as previously reported by PB, the American player would prefer to remain in Munich for another season. As a result, Olimpia's focus has shifted to another Serbian: Nikola Milutinov.
According to sources, Milano is ready to put a significant offer on the table for the player, but they will likely have to wait until the end of the season in Greece to get a clearer idea of his future — also to see if Olympiacos makes a last-minute attempt to renew his contract, which they haven’t yet managed to do in recent months.
Booker and Milutinov are two very different players — both obviously strong, but with distinct skill sets. Milutinov, 30, is a pure inside player, averaging 8.2 points and 5.8 rebounds, while Booker would offer a different kind of backup for Josh Nebo — assuming the summer months allow him to fully recover after a forgettable season — with different offensive solutions and the ability to space the floor.
Beyond the frontcourt situation, which has been a recurring issue in recent seasons, another constant problem for Olimpia has been the point guard position. Since the days of Rodriguez and Delaney, Milano has struggled to find stability at the playmaker role. While Guduric could certainly help in that department, they will still need to find a true point guard to replace the failed experiment with Neno Dimitrijevic.
The most talked-about name remains Nick Weiler-Babb, who was recently linked to Monaco, but whose future is still uncertain. As with Booker, much could depend on Daniele Baiesi moving from Bayern to Milano — a connection that could facilitate a potential transfer. Weiler-Babb averaged 8.2 points, 4.9 assists, and 4.1 rebounds in the 2024/25 EuroLeague season, with an impressive 43.5% from three-point range.
As for the coaching staff, which is set to be reshaped following the departure of Mario Fioretti, rumors are strengthening around Frank Vitucci possibly taking over the bench in Milan. Paolo Galbiati is also being considered as a potential option.
