Official: Crvena zvezda announces Luka Mitrović’s departure

Crvena zvezda has officially announced the departure of Luka Mitrović after nine seasons with the club. The club’s statement reads:
"Luka Mitrović is another player who, for the influence he had, the mark he left on Crvena zvezda, the trophies he won, and the captain's armband he wore – is a true legend of our club in every sense of the word!"
He first wore the red and white jersey back in 2012, when he arrived from Hemofarm. The rest is history!
Mitrović played 524 games for Crvena zvezda, placing him second on the club’s all-time appearance list.

During that time, he scored 3,932 points and won an impressive 19 trophies with the club he loved:
– 5 ABA League titles
– 6 Serbian championships
– 8 Radivoj Korać National Cups

Not just because of the trophies, but for always giving everything on the court, for the way he wore the red and white jersey, for his behavior off the court, and for promoting the core values of Crvena zvezda, Luka has cemented his place in the club’s history. He ranks second in all-time appearances, just behind Branko Lazić, to whom he handed over the captain’s armband after his first stint with the team.
Across two different periods, he played nine full seasons for KK Crvena zvezda. For everything he has done, he will forever be a red and white, and a part of our family for all time."
