Zalgiris Kaunas signs Moses Wright to one-year deal

Zalgiris Kaunas has signed American center Moses Wright to a one-year contract. The 26-year-old, standing at 207 cm, arrives in Kaunas from Olympiacos Piraeus, with whom he recently competed in the EuroLeague Final Four and won the Greek championship.
“Moses was a priority signing for us,” said Zalgiris president Paulius Jankunas. “We lacked physicality on offense, and Wright is a very athletic player who can also protect the paint. We also believe Wright hasn’t yet shown his full potential. His role on his previous team was quite defined, but when given the opportunity, his talent became clear—and that’s exactly the kind of player we were missing offensively.”
Last season, Wright appeared in 18 EuroLeague games, averaging 5.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 6.3 efficiency in just under 13 minutes per game.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to play for Zalgiris,” said Wright. “I’ve heard great things about the fans, the organization, and the city of Kaunas. Everyone I’ve talked to has said this is the best place in Europe to grow. I want to go there and show everyone who Moses Wright is. I can’t wait to get on the court in Kaunas.”
Before joining Olympiacos in late January 2024, Wright played for Merkezefendi Denizli in Turkey, where he averaged an impressive 26.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game.
In the 2023–24 EuroLeague season with Olympiacos, he posted averages of 8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 0.7 blocks, and an efficiency rating of 10.2 in 14 minutes per game.
