Paolo Galbiati is the new head coach of Baskonia
It's now official: Paolo Galbiati has been announced as the new head coach of Baskonia. Born in Milan in 1984, the Italian coach will lead the Basque club starting from the 2025-2026 season, having signed a contract through 2027. Galbiati arrives after an impressive season at the helm of Aquila Basket Trento, where he led the team to a historic fourth-place finish in Serie A, establishing himself as one of the most promising emerging coaches on the European scene. He will replace Pablo Laso.
With solid experience gained both in top-tier Italian clubs and as part of the senior national team's coaching staff, Galbiati brings, according to the club, "vision, knowledge of modern basketball, and a strong focus on team development and growth. He arrives in Vitoria-Gasteiz with the ambition of leading a new project at the Buesa Arena."
