NBA guard Josh Richardson might land in Europe

Trapani Shark is attempting an NBA-level signing. According to PianetaBasket, the club has made a significant offer to American guard Josh Richardson. A product of the University of Tennessee, Richardson was selected 40th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. After spending his first four seasons with the Miami Heat, he went on to play for Philadelphia, Dallas, Boston, San Antonio, and New Orleans before returning to Miami in 2023. Over his career, he has played in 554 NBA games, averaging 11.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, while shooting 36% from three-point range.

Trapani has already secured four international signings this summer: Jordan Ford, Ryan Arcidiacono, Timmy Allen, and Matthew Hurt. The club is now targeting a big man, and the potential addition of Richardson—should negotiations be finalized—would bring the number of non-EU players to seven. This would allow for rotation flexibility, especially with Trapani also competing in the Basketball Champions League.
