Marco Belinelli Admits: “Regrets About the National Team? We Could Have Done More”
Marco Belinelli spoke to Tg1, with his words reported by Il Resto del Carlino: “The NBA ring is something unique, winning it in that context made it even more special. Everything in San Antonio was fantastic.”He then went into more detail: “Basketball? I've had more than enough of it. Retiring? The difficult season convinced me, even though we at Virtus won the championship,” said Belinelli. A special dedication? “To Achille Polonara — I’ve known him for a long time, we talk often.”
Looking back on a remarkable career, Belinelli’s only regret concerns the Italian national team:
“Regrets about the national team? We could have done more. I spoke with Pozzecco, and now the European Championship is about to start. I wish the Azzurri all the best.”
