Latvian Karlis Silins signs with Estra Pistoia in Italy

A.S. Estra Pistoia Basket 2000 officially announced that it has reached an agreement, a one-year deal, with Latvian nationality wing/pivot Karlis Silins. “I am excited to start this adventure with Estra Pistoia Basket - Karlis Silins' first words in red and white - and I can't wait to give my contribution to the team. This season has put him on the map, and in the recently concluded championship he had a very important year in the Bundesliga with the BG Gottingen jersey, with which he achieved salvation in the German top league, producing 12.6 points (22 times in double figures) to which he added 5.4 rebounds (4 double-doubles totaled) in 26' with 50% from 2. With the German team, however, he also played the preliminary round of the Champions League and, subsequently, the first and second round in the Fiba Europe Cup with even more interesting numbers: 14.7 points (66% from 2), 5.3 rebounds and almost 2 assists per game in 27'. As a curiosity, his two best scoring performances (with 20 and 31 points scored, respectively) were when he played against Italian team Varese.
